We have established the “SAKURAI Vision”, a sustainability strategy that meets what we see to be important expectations of society.
By listing the SDGs 169 targets and their relevance to our business, we can identify and promote specific goals and targets to be worked on that are in line with our business.

SAKURAI will share specific initiatives with all employees and aim to achieve them together.
Target 4.c Substantially increase the supply of qualified teachers, including through international cooperation for teacher training in developing countries
By working on a business that supports the employment of foreign technical intern trainees and specific skilled workers, we will return the skills cultivated in Japan to their home countries, making them available to be taught to following generations, and contributing to the establishment of knowledge and skills.
Target 5.c Adopt and strengthen sound policies and enforceable legislation for the promotion of gender equality
We will actively utilize maternity leave, childcare leave, and reduced working hours before childbirth and childcare to create a comfortable working environment for women. We will also actively encourage male employees to take childcare leave.
Target 7.3 Double the global rate of improvement in energy efficiency
We will contribute to maximizing energy efficiency by manufacturing lightweight and highly efficient products optimizing use of advanced technology and development potential in our manufacturing of precision machine tools.
Target 12.5 Substantially reduce waste generation through prevention, reduction, recycling and reuse
We will achieve a 100% rate of recycling for all waste generated on our sites by 2030.
Target 13.2 Integrate climate change measures into national policies, strategies and planning
By incorporating ISO 14001 activities, we will achieve zero carbon dioxide emissions by 2050 as required by the Act on Promotion of Global Warming Countermeasures.
